I thought I’d share this commerical. It’s the Peyton Manning MasterCard commercial for this season where Manning uses his MasterCard rewards to stay longer in the towns of rival teams (New England, Cleveland, San Diego). One of my favorites.
As many know, I’m a sim racer. Typically, at least once a week, I sit down at my desk with my steering wheel in front of the computer racing cars (and trucks) against people doing the same at their desks. Well, here’s my 2009 #25 SPY Optic Chevrolet that I race in the Vidane Racing League.
Vidane isn’t the normal every day sim racing league. This season they ran six events, with the fastest 36 trucks making the race. Well, 45 guys showed up to race in the season opener, 53 in the next, up to a season high of 63 guys trying to make the fourth race of the season. Vidane also broadcasts their races on RLMtv, a company which basically takes the race, puts on a TV-like broadcast, complete with commentating and sponsors.
In 6 races, I qualified fast enough for 5 of them (got into the other because I was in the top-5 in points and guaranteed a spot), and scored 4 top-5s, and 5 top-10s. I had the highest average finish of all drivers (6th) and finished every lap (only 1 other driver did the same). I ended up second in points, 23 points behind one Mr. James Gutta.
On January 2, 2009, we’ll be having the Daytona 250 which will be broadcast once again, on RLMtv. I’ll be running, so will a few of my sim racing friends. Hopefully we can all qualify and one of us can win.
